Miley CyrusCyrus says it's better to go green

Miley Cyrus isn't being shy when it comes to her opinions on drugs and alcohol. "I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana - people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care. I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed." she tells Rolling Stone during an online Q&A. "As long as it isn't illegal, there are fare more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be" (METRO, Thursday, June 20, 2013).

With Washington state about to embark on a first-of-its-kind legal market for recreational marijuana, the budding ranks of new cannabis growers face a quandary over what to do with the excess stems, roots and leaves from their plants.
Susannah Gross, who owns a five-acre-farm north of Seattle, is part of a group experimenting with a solution that seems to make the most of marijuana's appetite-enhancing properties - turning weed waste into pig food (Jonathan Kaminsky, "High time for pigs. Feeding porkers pot makes them eat more, farmer says", THE SUNDAY SUN, May 26, 2013).
