Terrorysci w Kanadzie +

Temat nie schodzi ze szpalt gazet i ekranow telewizorow. Dzisiaj obszerne reportaze + komentarze na CNN, CTV, ABC o kanadyjskich terrorystach. Siedemnastu na razie. 12 + 5 nieletnich. Z Toronto, Mississauga i Kingston. Muzulmanie pod przywodctwem imama. Dobre dzieci z dobrych rodzin. Nie pija, pala i nie uzywaja. Jednym slowem, elita intelektualna i religijna. Dobrzy kanadyjscy obywatele. I ci dobrzy, religijni ludzie chcieli mnie wysadzic w powietrze?! Terrorysci trenujacy na plantacjach marihuanowych?

The report also marks the first time the United States has voiced concerns about Canada in its Patterns of Global Terrorism. In past years, the report has had only praise for Canada and its anti-terrorism efforts. By contrast, such countries as Azerbaijan, Thailand, Israel and Turky were praised as "staunch" U.S. counterterror allies, and the U.K. was called "one of the United States' staunchest allies."...
The report left unchanged the list of state sponsors of terror: Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Syria and Sudan (Stewart Bell, "Ottawa impedes war on terror, U.S. report says", NATIONAL POST, Thursday, May 1, 2003).

The sounds of war were coming from what police now describe as a terrorist training camp on an isolated property just outside Washago, about 150 kilometres north of Toronto...
Bill Duffy, the Mayor of Ramara Township, which includes the community of Washago, said he didn't know about the activities at the camp, but added that he was not surprised given the area's remoteness and rugged terrain.
In fact, marijuana grow operations have been springing up in the areas during recent years. "I had no inkling that was going on in my township," Mr. Duffy said. "But it doesn't really surprise me. There's a lot of rural area, a lot of back roads and a lot of isolated properties... This is kind of the perfect spot for something like this.
"We have a lot of problems with people growing marijuana out in the back concessions," he added. "It's a rugged, back-hills area. It easy to hide a grow-op. But terrorism is something new around here" (Chris Wattie, "Neighbours heard guns at alleged terror camp", NATIONAL POST, Monday, June 5, 2006 www.nationalpost.com).
