Louisiana police charge Willie Nelson with misdemeanour drug possession

Country singer-songwriter Willie Nelson and several fellow musicians were charged with misdemeanour drug possession by Louisiana police, who seized about 0.7 kg of marijuana and 91 grams of psychedelic mushrooms after a search of their tour bus. State police spokesman Willie Williams said the bus was stopped early Monday nearl Lafayette, La., for a routine commercial inspection, and a state trooper smelled marijuana inside the bus. The singer and four passengers were cited for possession and released, while the driver had his commercil driving privleges suspended as well as being cited for possession. Mr. Nelson, 73, could face six months in jail and a fine.
