Based at "front-line command" - the R. and A. secretary's caravan - is attractive Lorna Zaremba, a former "Miss Fife."
Lorna, who is secretary to Mr Keith MacKenzie, the R. and A. secretary has to cope with umpteen inquiries ranging from lost tickets, to overseas visitors and last-minute accommodation for V.I.P. guests.
Her role in the Open begins long before the first stroke is played, when she distributes information to players and helps to arrange their accommodation.
Once play is in progress, she finds her average working day is from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. - and occasionally as late as 11 p.m.
