Two robbers ambush cash-toting security guards near Queen West and Roncesvalles

MONEY FOR ATM

Police are looking for two robbers who ambushed a pair of Securicor security guards as they were about to deposit a bag of money into an ATM machine around 9:15 p.m. on Monday. The guards never made it to the cash dispenser, located in a variety store near Queen Street West and Roncesvalles Avenue. One man pointed a gun at the guard carrying the money, and the second assailant disarmed the other security guard. The robbers took the money and ran north on Roncesvalles Avenue. Police would not disclose how much cash was stolen. Police describe the first suspect as white, 6-foot-2, 220 pounds. He was wearing black tear-away pants and a black jacket with a hood. The second suspect was dressed all in black. Both were wearing balaclavas (NATIONAL POST, Wednesday, February 21, 2007).
